Resilience (16) / #100DaysToOffload
“I didn’t need to be told how bad things were … what I needed most, was hope. I needed a journey through all that anguish … I wanted to be an active participant in my grief process.”
Dr Lucy Hone
The three strategies that Dr Hone talks about in the video below are best summed up as:
- Acceptance or acknowledgement of the situation as part of life
- Focus on things you can change and on the positive things, and
- Is what you are doing helping you or harming you? Do you have control over the situation or control over how you react to the situation?
These strategies are reflected in the book and my review of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k.
This video is just so relevent and needed now as we head into our tenth month of COVID-related lockdown in the UK, and learning about resilience and how we act/react to events around us, that are in and out of our control, is key to being, and showing resilience.
