Trust

A short leadership/management post here to share this tweet from Liz Ryan:

In order for you to succeed, everyone has to succeed, and for that you need to trust and respect your team(s), and in return, they will trust and respect you.

Very few people, if any, will respond well to being led by force, fear, or against their will into their work.

You need to have an open conversation about how and why things are happening, listen to their fears or concerns, collaborate on changes or improvements (if possible), and explain why the route ahead or decisions being made are going forward in this way even if it’s not what someone wants. Being part of the conversation, even one you don’t want is still better than being excluded and forced down a specific unwelcome path.
