Confirm my choices
Website cookies, GDPR, and the frequent (and frequently annoying) pop-up box when you visit a website to ‘confirm my choices’ to the use of cookies and the ability to track you.
Even when I go through the lengthy rigamarole of unchecking each and every box to restrict the use of as many cookies as possible, I still have to ‘confirm my choices’ on what the website owner thinks are ‘legitimate cookies’.
- Yes, I’ve moaned about cookies before, and they’re still here, annoying me.
But, here’s the question for today … what are ‘legitimate cookies’ or the ‘legitimate use’? Who decides this, and why can’t I just refuse all cookies? Yes, I understand it’ll make aspects of the website unusable and/or unreadable. That’s my choice, and I confirm this.
