“Evolution of the Blogger”
From it’s (our?) origins in the early 90’s and the geeky individuals who examined and wrote code, the ‘blogger’ has evolved into a business stream, hobby, professional enterprise, educator, student, political activist, obsessive blogger, etc, some earning a learning through their activity and others (like me) doing it because I can and because I want to.
This infographic sheds some (vague) light on where we all came from; click it to view in it’s full glory. what I do like is the little section right at the bottom … the future, the next generation. It says that the future could be the micro-blogger, and that all our activity on platforms like Twitter, Linked In, Facebook, etc are more than just link sharing, we’re extending our blogging activity, our network, to the wider audience.
I dread to think what group I fall into, what about you?
Hi,
My name is Amelia Platt and I am in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class. I will be summarizing both of my post on my blog ameliaplattedm310@blogspot.com. This is such an interesting post. It made me think about my future as a teacher and if I will be a teacher that blogs everything or blogs just the important stuff. We have our own blogs for EDM ans until I had to do my blog I never thought of it. My blog has been such a wonderful experience for me to learn how to do that I know I will use this for my kids in the future. I loved this post and it made me think.
What a wonderful infographic; thanks for sharing it, David.
Unfortunately I agree the future of blogging is indeed microblogging. I tweet as much as the next guy, but won’t we consider anything in depth any more?
