Tips to make you look good on a webcam
As basic Internet speeds up, more and more people are incorporating video in their online lives. Whether it’s a family event,m working from home, or taking part in webinars, webcams are being used.
This handy guide will, hopefully, put an end to those dark or overlit videos .. “how to look good on camera”. It covers lighting, positioning, and connection, and could help you appear more professional (and certainly easier to see/hear).
These are great tips for looking good when you are on a webcam. I have actually never thought of some of these ideas before as an online teacher. I use Blackboard Collaborate to teach my classes. I would love to use my webcam more often and for longer periods of time. I avoid using the webcam because it causes delays for a lot of my students. These delays get so bad for some students that it causes them to come in and out of the class connect
session. Do you have any ideas for improving these delays while using the webcam?
Hi Casey.
You might be able to check the settings for the webcam? If there is anything in there, or through Collaborate, that can reduce the quality of the video (yes I know, I don’t like saying it) then a smaller refresh rate or resolution might help.
Let me know if you get anywhere with it please?
