Innovating Pedagogy
Tagged as a report “exploring new forms of teaching, learning and assessment, to guide educators and policy makers” the Innovating Pedagogy 2013 from the Open University is intended for teachers, policy makers, academics and anyone interested in how education may change over the next ten years.
The 2013 report highlights, for the coming 10 years according to timescale and impact:
Impact: High
- MOOCs
- badge
- crowd learning
- gamification
Impact: Medium/High
- analytics
- ‘seamless’ learning
- digital scholarship
Impact: Medium
- geo-learning
- social learning
- citizen inquiry
Each of these have different time to impact from immediate to 2-5 years or longer, but the impact to education and learning is probably more important: as we know, the timescale to adoption is also dependent on how we investigate and adopt the technology and the pedagogic application of it.
Read the full report for more on each of these new pedagogies.
